A Hampshire based photographer who spent many years in the travel industry.
After exploring different parts of the world and creating experiences for others,
she decided to embark on a new adventure of her own. With her self-taught
photography skills and techniques Joanne Palmer prefers to be creative with
her work rather than the straightforward point and shoot approach and likes
to push the traditional boundaries of photography to create the imperfections
of shapes, colours, and textures.
In recent work ‘Remnants of Time: Fragments of the past’, Palmer used her own
father’s archives, combining traditional methods infused with a contemporary
approach to evoke nostalgia while embracing the freshness.
In her next work she aims to explore the ‘mechanical eye’ and its potential to
symbolise the delicate thread of human existence.
